NorthCross Children’s Ministry:

“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’”
- Matthew 19:14

Overview
At NorthCross we are attempting to provide a church environment where children will be introduced to a personal relationship with Jesus through a variety of ways, especially through:

  • Strong families
  • Fellowship with other children
  • Inclusion in the worship and fellowship of the church
  • Sound teaching of Biblical truths

Vision
Our vision for NorthCross is to first and foremost, train parents to build strong families by strengthening their marriages and by helping them to share the gospel within the home. In addition, we would like for all children to fully experience the life of the church as soon as possible. This means that children will be included in most of our fellowship events and in the worship service. By including the children in the life of the church, it is our hope that NorthCross will provide a unique, relational and gospel-centered experience for our families and where children will benefit from relationships with other children as well as other adults in the church.

Availability
During the worship service NorthCross currently provides nursery for babies and small children up to the age of three. We also provide the option for children to attend children’s church during the sermon. Children’s church is for children from the age of three until they begin Kindergarten.

We also have a Sunday School classes for children aged 2 1/2 through high school. The classes are divided as follows: pre-school - 2 1/2 years old until kindergarten; elementary - kindergarten - 5th grade (this is more of a family-type setting with the older children helping the younger ones) and middle/high school. The new "school" year begins September 13th.

Other activities for children include organizing family picnics, trips to see historical sites in the area, hiking, movie nights, and service to others in the church and the community.During the summer we offer Vacation Bible School.

Safety and Security
NorthCross has experienced and capable leaders and provides a healthy and safe environment for our children. We ask that all parents sign their children in and out of the nursery and provide the church with information regarding any special needs/allergies their children have so we know how to best serve them. By taking these steps we hope that all who attend NorthCross will be confident that their children are being well cared-for during the worship service and during other church functions.
